SOLAR PASSIVE.

Your villa is architect-designed and uses solar passive principles to bring in the natural light to warm your home during winter, and allow cross ventilation and shading to keep it cool during summer. Solar passive design not only increases your comfort levels, it also lowers your energy bills.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SOLAR PASSIVE DESIGN?

By carefully designing for the location, and orientating your home to take best advantage of the natural cycle of the sun through the seasons, solar passive design is able to ensure your home is naturally warmer in winter and naturally cooler in summer. Put simply, clever solar passive design means your home will be more comfortable to live in and cheaper to run.

WINTER

In winter it’s about capturing the warmth and energy from the sun which is lower in the northern sky. Intelligent orientation and passive design allows the internal mass of the home to absorb heat during the day from direct sunlight, and then re-radiate this warmth back into the home throughout the night.

SUMMER

In summer it’s about excluding the heat from the sun which is much higher in the sky. Intelligent design and shading combine to protect the mass of the home from excess summer sun, while the heat that is absorbed is able to be drawn out and released into the cooler earth and by cool night breezes.
